Yonette Elizabeth Gilford, 59, was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter. Yonette fought a good fight of faith and finished the course quietly in her sleep on Friday, September 24, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Yonette was born on October 21, 1961, to Alonzo and Constance Sancho in Guyana. She married her husband Prince "Winston" Gilford and they enjoyed each other for thirty-nine years where together they started their life and family. She began her professional career as a Teacher where she left an impactful impression on the students with whom she came into contact. Yonette had a huge heart and a yearning to serve in the medical field where through much hard work and dedication she acclaimed her dreams and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then went on to have careers as a Nurse Manager at Rikers Island in New York and then unto the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Texas. When she was not busy at work, Yonette enjoyed listening to her gospel music and praising and worshiping the Lord. She also loved cooking and travelling especially taking cruises. She will be greatly missed and will continue to be remembered forever and always in our hearts.
