Steven George Haltiwanger

With great sorrow, the family of Dr. Steven George Haltiwanger announces that he passed away suddenly in Willow Park, TX on October 4th, 2020 at the age of 66. Dr. Haltiwanger graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1980 and worked as a psychiatrist in Valdosta, GA from 1984 to 1999. After leaving private practice, he worked as a medical and scientific research director.  

Steve is survived by his; children: Jeremy Haltiwanger of Willow Park, TX, Jonathan Haltiwanger of Orlando, FL, and Jenna Morris (Jeremy) of Evans, Georgia; brother and sister: Randy Haltiwanger of Fernandina Beach, FL and Lisa Haltiwanger Newton of St Simons Island, GA ; as well as two grandchildren: Brendan and Amelia “Millie” Morris with a third grandchild on the way; three nieces: Nuri Haltiwanger, Haley Haltiwanger and Alexandra Newton McNeal, and numerous cousins in Valdosta and South Carolina.  He is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Clementine Haltiwanger of Valdosta, GA. 

Steve was a funny, intelligent, sarcastic, and a loving man. He taught his family how to go through life with a sense of humor. He helped many people through the years in his work as a physician and world-renowned scientific researcher. The world is a less silly place without him, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
