Danny Jack Terry

   Danny Jack Terry, 93, of Runaway Bay, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, Navy veteran and friend to many went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 16, 2023 in Runaway Bay, Texas.

   Danny was born to Dowell Terry and Ita Galaway on April 3, 1930 in Corsicana, Texas. Danny decided to serve his country and joined the Navy in 1949, while in the Navy he went to Korea. His biggest complaint about going to Korea was the fact that he got sick on the way there due to high seas and on the way back due to high seas and therefore he didn’t get to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner. Danny was united in marriage to the love of his life Barbara Giller on June 3, 1956 in Pearsall, Texas. Danny worked in the oil field after getting out of the Navy, he traveled all over Texas working. Danny enjoyed different types of restaurants to where he knew almost every little hole in the wall diner throughout Texas from his traveling with work. Outside of his traveling all over Texas his favorite place to go was in Platoro, Colorado. Danny had many past times but the main ones were his football teams and supporting them through and through, the Dallas Cowboys, TCU Horned Frogs and the University of Texas. Whenever it wasn’t game day though he was watching his westerns. The thing that meant the most to him though was his family, any chance he was able to he surrounded himself by his family and loved them dearly. He will be greatly missed and forever in his family and friends hearts.

   Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, granddaughter Christa Terry, great granddaughter Sereia Terry and his brother Kenneth Terry.

   Those left behind to cherish his memory were his daughter Diane Terry Peterson of Bridgeport; his son Duffy Terry and Susie of Runaway Bay; his grandchildren Matthew Peterson, Noah Peterson, Rachel Peterson, Richele Terry, Belinda Fallon and husband Jimmy and Justin Terry; his great grandchildren Lucy Ellis, Marcy Ellis, Sadye Rojo, Diego Rojo, JT Fallon, Brendin Fallon, Mickye Fallon, Montana Fallon, Jake Fallon, Tessa Terry and Willow Terry; His great great grandchild Asher Fallon; his sister Jerry Bee of Oakton, Virginia; Along with numerous extended family and a host of friends.
